Donald Trump Found Guilty In Hush-Money Case!

Just a few months before the election, a New York Jury sentenced Donald Trump to be guilty in a hush-money case. With this, Donald Trump has become the first former US president to be ever convicted of a crime.

Donald Trump was found guilty in all 34 counts of hiding a payment meant to silence adult movie actress Stormy Daniels. Theoretically, he could be sentenced to four years behind bars for each count; however, he will likely get probation.

The 77-year-old Donald Trump was released without bail. However, he is now a felon in a country where presidents are regarded as the world’s most powerful men. Something like this never happened in the US until now, and it is shocking.

Even after being convicted, Trump is continuing his battle to dethrone President Joe Biden. Donald Trump voiced immediate defiance and told reporters that he is innocent. He also said that voters will deliver the real verdict about this case.

Biden’s election campaign issued a statement on this matter, saying that the trial showed no one is above the law. The statement also added, “The threat Trump poses to our democracy has never been greater.

On this matter, Judge Juan Merchan summoned sentencing for 11 July, four days ago, at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee. Trump will receive the party’s nomination at the same place.

Juan Merchan thanked jurors for completing this difficult task. The 12-member jury debated on the hush money case for over 11 hours within two days, after which the foreperson read the conclusion.

The identities of jurors were kept secret throughout proceedings, which is mostly seen in cases of mafia or other violent defendants.
